Biographical Project

what does biographical mean?...

an account of the form and events of a persons life and
documented as a film, book, essay or painting.

i have chosen to do the career of The Beatles from 1963-1970 in the style of roy lichtenstein in the layout of peter blake's late work in a story board.

i wanted to make a pop art style piece that relates to all of the bands i have chosen.

PETER BLAKE:  "i wanted to make an art movement that was the visual equivalent of pop music"

peter blake was born in dartford , kent in 1932. He Studied at Grevesend school of Art then he earned a place at the royal college of art in London in 1956. He if often referred to as the godfather of british pop art, best known for the beetles album cover 'Sergeant peppers lonely hearts club band'. He received a knighthood  and later became a CBE in 2002.
His work is drawn from his surroundings, he started to collage incorporating iconic figures and found objects like photographs, cigarette packets, advertising texts, matchboxes and comic strips.
Blake's work has a range of bold geometric patterns and primary colors. his focus is particularly towards childhood innocence and reminiscence, he's also recognized for his connection to the music industry having created album covers for the beetles, oasis and the who.

EDUARDO PAOLOZZI: "i can't bear to throw things away. a nice wine bottle, a nice box, sometimes i feel like a wizard in tow town, transforming a bunch of carrots into pomegranates"
